World Prematurity Day

World Prematurity Day 11-17-11

In the United States, 1 in 8 babies are born premature.  Worldwide, 13 million babies are born too soon.  Today is World Prematurity Day.

No mother should ever give birth and have to leave the hospital without her baby.  No parent should ever have to watch their child struggle between life and death.

We feel so fortunate that our outcome with Connor has turned out the way it has… we are beyond lucky and blessed.  Like any toddler, he’s a handful, but he’s an absolute JOY – and we thank our Heavenly Father every day that he’s ours.

You can read more about Connor’s amazing story here.

Thank you so much for sharing this! Your little boy truly is a miracle. My kids have all been preemies, the earliest being born at 32 weeks. Leaving the hospital without my daughter was absolutely heartwrenching but makes her health now that much more of a miracle to me :)

Amazing story! I only had time to browse it (love the monkey photos) as my own "preemie" keeps me hoppin! He was 'only' 6 weeks early but like you said it really makes you treasure every miracle of his growth and progress even more! We take a weekly picture of him in a little rocking chair. I'm hoping to be able to keep up with it to have the full year! ;-)
