While Brian played Mr. Mom for a few days, I was able to attend Marisa’s memorial service in Arizona. It was an emotional weekend, but I’m so glad I was able to go. Marisa is truly one-of-a-kind, and made (and will continue to make) an impact on so many lives.
Her hilarious sense of humor and unending compassion for others will live on. As many people said, knowing Marisa made you want to be a better person. (You can read more about Marisa here and here.)
My brother, Scott, created this beautiful tribute video for Marisa, that truly captures the inspiration she is to her family, her friends, and the rest of the world. It was played during her memorial service – not a dry eye in the house when it finished!
Marisa Johnson from Scott on Vimeo.
Within her family, Marisa was not alone in her struggle with cystic fibrosis – her younger sister, Wellesley, also lost her battle with the disease in 2001, at the age of 18.
Scott will be walking with Team Marisa & Wellesley at the Great Strides Walk in Phoenix to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on May 22, 2011. If you have some change to spare, and want to support a great cause, please donate! According to CFF: “your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue
raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.”
If you’d like to support Team Marisa & Wellesley and help make a difference in the lives of those affected by cystic fibrosis, please click the button on the left.
I will be offering free printables, during the week of April 17, 2011, in exchange for your generous donation to Team Marisa & Wellesley. Please click the button to the right for more information!
Thanks so much for your support!

I'm so sorry for your loss. The video was absolutely beautiful and although I didn't know Marisa personally it touched me greatly. I don't have a lot to give but I'll make a donation in her memory.
The video was lovely and a wonderful tribute. Even though I did not know Marisa, I can tell she will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
Wow that was a touching video. I will definitely make a donation and post this on my blog and facebook. Thanks Aimee!
