Our hearts are heavy…

scott,marisa[9]…for those who loved and knew sweet Marisa so well.

Today, she passed on.  Much, much too soon, but after fighting cystic fibrosis valiantly for her entire life.

An article was written about Marisa for the ASU student paper a few years ago…  read more here.

Marisa touched the lives of all who knew her – she was an inspiration with her strong spirit and positive attitude, and we’re especially grateful for all that she gave to my brother, Scott.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

I am just so sorry to hear about your brother's best friend. I read his earlier post about her and it was just beautiful. She sounds like the most amazing person! I will pray for her family & your brother to be comforted.

aimee, i wanted to let you know that this post weighed so heavy on my heart last night that i cried myself to sleep. i am currently a nanny for the two most wonderful little girls and the youngest, lilly, has cf. it's so important for people to become more aware of the disease and to help in any way they can to find a cure. the fact that marisa lived a happy life and actually lived a relatively long life for cf gives me hope for lilly and all the others out there living with this terrible disease. thanks again for posting and i'll be praying for her family and friends.

Aimee, know that prayers and sincerest thoughts uplift each of you, and Marisa. We've learned much about CF, as our 13 yr old is best friends with a classmate who has it. The classmate is one of 3 of 5 kids in her family who has CF. What an amazing support and blessing you have been for Marisa, your brother and her family. ~Dori~
