There's a lot I'm grateful for this week, but first and foremost is
Brian's job. A year ago, he was just getting out of a truly horrible experience that rocked us to the core. He's come a long way in a year and we're
very fortunate that he is employed, that he works for a company he can believe in, and that he works for people who definitely and finally value his contributions. He had a much deserved, stellar performance review this week and I couldn't be more proud of him! I'm also very grateful that his job has afforded me the opportunity to retire from mine, and focus on other things like being a housewife, blogging, eating bon-bons, and watching soap operas.
(Just kidding...)I'm also grateful for our personal growth... in showing
restraint... by not making hasty, expensive purchases... like we used to! We're currently in the process of updating our washer/dryer, and we've been working hard by doing copious amounts of research (thanks, Dad!), talking to as many people as we can, and collecting advice. We've "remodeled" our laundry room to accommodate larger machines, but now have a few concerns, since it's on the 2nd floor.
Anyone out there own front-loading machines? If so, we need to talk...

My mom was so excited about buying a front loader washer. She HATES it!
Oh! What does she hate about it?? Tell me, tell me!!
First of all - forget the front loaders. We have a FANTASTIC set that was worth every penny and will put the front loaders to shame. I can wash 23 pairs of jeans in one load - plus they come out of the washer practically dry - so I can dry a whole load in under 30 minutes. It is the bomb!!
Oh and hooray that Brian is appreciated. That is so important. Adam's employer really stepped up this year and it made a HUGE difference to us!
In this crap economy, we should all be very thankful for good employment! It's also a wonderful blessing when you can stay home and not have to work. Cooking, cleaning, kids, etc. are work enough! (So is blogging and eating bon-bons...)
