I had an English teacher in HS that said that phrase to me way too often, and unfortunately I have never forgotten it. Needless to say, we probably endured a hate-hate relationship! Shortly after, I did realize that was merely her opinion, and didn't need to necessarily take it to heart. While I do believe sarcasm to be a negative form of humor, sometimes... it's the only way you can cope! I saw this at CrabbyMommy (click on it to enlarge):

"Young lady, sarcasm is the lowest form of humor"

Those teachers... Mr Ferries (or how ever you speel that) told me I would end up living on welfare in some trailer park... poo heads.
Maybe you remember this teacher, Christy? She taught seminary, too... :(
